Awesome indeed, so glad you got to see that. It’s interesting because on Google Maps, the PCT goes to the west of the lake, but the Halfmile markers trace right along the rim. Did you have a choice of routes to take?
Gorgeous! We do have an amazing geography in our country.
I had a choice to either take the Hiker PCT (Rim Trail) or the Equestrian PCT (far from rim and in the past it was the official route)

We were there just two days before you, Brian! Travelling south in the 1966 Corvair. We crossed the PCT sign and I thought of you but didn’t know quite where you were. Many good thoughts were deposited in your direction there!
(We just got home Saturday 8/11).
