I don’t know the name of these yellow flowers, but I’ve passed by thousands like this picture.

Looks like Mule’s Ears. If you are near Tahoe, they are everywhere!

I would almost say black eye Susan’s, but they have yellow eyes…hahaha. also the English daisy is common in west coast states. The leaves are right, but I think color of those is white or pink. But the shape and petals are similar. All from my golden guide to weeds, 1972…..hahaha.
Those are mule ears and related to sunflowers. The leaves are soft and furry.
