With all the wonderful views I almost forgot to note that I passed the 2300 mile mark.

After climbing and climbing I got to the beginning of the Goat Rocks Wilderness’ Knife Edge. It is over 2 miles on the crest of mountain after mountain as far as the eye can see. Slowly I picked my way through steep descents of rock jumbles. Not for the faint-of-heart. Before descending I phoned my sweetheart and told her I love her.

The trail was very hard to traverse because it was a jumble of big rocks. My poles would side off or go in holes. It was hard to get my footing with the rocks all helter-skelter. Slowly, very slowly I picked my path. It took me hours to traverse it. But the views, oh the views were breathtaking.

Today was very special. The views were spectacular and I couldn’t stop taking pictures. Mt. Rainier is in the distance.

Reminded me of the Sierra Nevada mountains with its many snowfields to cross.

I took a panoramic picture and still it doesn’t capture the spectacular majestic beauty of this place. All I can say is amazing!

After over one hundred miles in forest I was treated to this spectacular view in the Goat Rocks Wilderness.

Today I celebrated having been on trail for four months.
