I woke at 5 am. I didn\u2019t sleep well. My campsite was too bumpy and slanted. Gratefully no one overnight tripped on my guy line that was across the trail. Again I started while it was dark using my headlamp. Unfortunately I missed a turn and had to go back to cross the Conejos stream to stay on trail. Then it was the first climb. It was a long slow one. Then another. And another. They all took time. I met a couple of day hikers. One of which mention camping at Blue Lake. I passed by Blue Lake, but it was too early and pushed on. I did about 16.5 miles. Now I have only 24.4 miles to Cumbres Pass and Justin.
